Riding a motorcycle with legs amputated above the knee? Impossible?
Not really. Where there's customisation, there's a way.

What do you need feet for when riding a motorcycle? Braking, shifting gears, standing. All that's required is a construction that meets these requirements. Here's the solution in more detail: the brakes can be operated by hand (thumb) and, if required, the lever can be positioned on the other side.

For specialists: the reversing lever with zero-backlash joints on the left, and the gear-shift on the right are operated by the vibration absorber. It's as simple as that. Nothing is impossible. Certainly not riding a motorcycle with legs amputated above the knee.

And paraplegics can also swing themselves onto a bike with ease. Here, all that's required is a multitrack vehicle, like the „quads" offered by numerous motorcycle companies. As mentioned above, the rear brake is operated by hand. Gears are changed using either a servo-motor or an air-pressure switch.

Furthermore, it is also possible to ride a „normal" two-wheeler, whereby two stabilising wheels are activated during slow movement or when standing.
